If you’re dealing with major tooth loss and are looking into options for replacing lost teeth, Dr. Ramin Mirmooji and our Msmiline Cosmetic Dentistry team encourage you to consider all-on-4 dental implants. With all-on-4 implants, we can restore your smile’s original structure and beauty. In this post, your Pierrefonds, Quebec, dentist answers your questions about all-on-4 implant treatment.
All-on-4 implant treatment is a dental procedure that can be used to replace most or all of your teeth using implant dentures as restorations. All-on-4 differs from traditional implant treatment in that only four implants, instead of eight or more, are used to support an entire arch of upper or lower teeth.
All-on-4 implants provide a permanent solution to tooth loss, as they can last a lifetime. Additional benefits include:
All-on-4 implant dentures are securely attached to your implants for stability and support. They don’t need adhesives to keep them from slipping or coming loose. Unlike traditional dentures removed at night for soaking, all-on-4 implant dentures stay in your mouth permanently. You care for your implant teeth like natural teeth – through regular brushing, flossing, and dental cleanings. All-on-4 implant teeth have a natural, realistic look and feel. Your smile won’t look bulky or phony. With all-on-4 implant dentures, you benefit from the same chewing power as natural teeth, making eating a joy again.
The surgical procedure can be completed in one day. However, the implants need time to fuse with your jawbone to become a permanent foundation for your new teeth. The fusing process can take 3 to 6 months to complete. If Dr. Mirmooji has to extract damaged or decayed teeth or treat gum disease before your procedure, this can extend the time frame of your treatment.
With all-on-4 implants, you have the option of getting temporary dentures—teeth in a day—at the same time as you receive the implants. Once your implants have fully healed, we will replace the temporary teeth with permanent custom-fitted dentures to complete your treatment.
