Enjoy teeth-in-a-day with effective and fast results

At Msmiline Cosmetic Dentistry of Pierrefonds, Quebec, patients can talk to our dentist about the benefits of same-day dental work. This includes obtaining new teeth in a day with our dental implant process. Instead of being without teeth for extended periods, our same-day dental implants and restorations are known as “teeth in a day.” This is a popular choice for our patients who want to repair their smile but want to maintain an attractive smile until their dental implants can be permanently restored.

How do same-day dental implants work?

Girl is Showing Her Teeth

Same-day dental implants are a fast and effective way to replace missing teeth. Our dentist start by taking a specialized xray,  dental ct scan (cbct), and use special software to plan implant position, and fabricate a surgical guide and a temporary denture for a smooth and fast procedure.  On the day of the procedure, you will be adequately anesthetized(numbed) the implants placed through the guide, and a temporary denture attached to these implants, followed by instructions on care and diet to help you heal faster.  We will follow up adequately to ensure your comfort. The healing period for the implants can vary between 3 to 6 months depending on the bone density and when the implants are integrated with the body (osteointegration) we will proceed with fabrication of final prosthesis( teeth).

Teeth In A Day FAQs

How does the Teeth in a Day procedure work?

Using advanced techniques, Dr. Mirmooji will place a series of dental implants before attaching your temporary teeth to them, all within a single appointment. After a few months, when your dental implants have had the time to integrate fully with your jawbone, your temporary teeth will be replaced with your new permanent set, giving you a complete smile in a fraction of the time compared to traditional implants.

Can I eat normally with my temporary teeth right after the procedure?

While your temporary teeth will look and function like natural teeth, avoiding hard or sticky foods in the first few weeks after the procedure is important to allow for proper healing, although your new teeth will be secure, it’s still a good idea to follow Dr. Mirmooji’s instructions to ensure the implants and restoration remain stable during the healing phase.

Is the Teeth in a Day procedure suitable for everyone?

Teeth in a Day is not suitable for every patient. Ideal candidates have sufficient bone structure to support dental implants, healthy gums, and no significant health issues that would interfere with healing. Dr. Mirmooji will evaluate your oral health and discuss any underlying conditions, such as gum disease or bone loss, to determine if this procedure is right for you.

How does Teeth in a Day compare to traditional implants?

Traditional dental implants require multiple visits over several months, including time to fuse with the jawbone (osseointegration). Teeth in a Day significantly reduces the wait time, allowing patients to have implants placed and temporary teeth attached in a single visit. This is particularly advantageous for people who want immediate results without the extended wait typical of traditional implants.

Will the results of Teeth in a Day look natural?

Yes, Teeth in a Day’s goal is to provide a beautiful, natural-looking smile. Dr. Mirmooji uses advanced 3D imaging technology and personalized treatment planning to ensure that temporary and permanent restorations blend seamlessly with your natural facial features and existing teeth. The materials used for both temporary and permanent teeth are designed to mimic the appearance of natural teeth, giving you a smile that looks and feels authentic.

How long do the temporary teeth last in the Teeth-in-a-day procedure?

The temporary teeth placed during the Teeth in a Day procedure are designed to function well during the healing phase but are not meant for long-term wear. Typically, the temporary teeth will be replaced with permanent restorations after the implants have fully integrated into the jawbone, which usually takes a few months. This ensures you have a secure and functional set of teeth for years to come.

What are the risks associated with Teeth in a Day?

While the Teeth-in-a-day procedure is generally safe, like any surgical procedure, there are potential risks, including infection, implant failure, or issues with the temporary restoration. Dr. Mirmooji will discuss these risks during your consultation and take measures to minimize complications. Proper aftercare and following all post-operative instructions will help ensure the best possible outcome and a smooth recovery process.
